The Adelaide Hills offers plentiful pickings of locally produced treasures. Lenswood is the Hills’ apple aisle and more than deserves a quick stop for a basket full of fresh produce. Stop in at Woodside Cheese Wrights for artisan cow and goat milk cheeses then onto Melba’s Chocolate Factory to melt away that chocolate fix.
Uraidla Hotel has recently had a restoration makeover. Themed around the historical beauty and character of the hotel established in 1857, it has been cleverly and subtly infused with memorabilia of that age, region and bar related paraphernalia - with a delightful twist. Spend your afternoon or evening indulging in the delicious food and drink sourced from local producers, makers and growers.
You may wish to explore the hip and quirky converted church experience of Uraidla’s Lost in a Forest. This locale has high quality food and drinks sourced from boutique local businesses from the Basket Range wine growing region.

For something a little different, enjoy the outdoors and hand-pick some delicious fresh produce along the Cherry Trail.
Strawberries more to your fancy? A little off the Bupa Stage 4 route you’ll find the Beerenberg family farm, sixth-generation ‘pick your own’ strawberry farmers. In the spirit of the TDU, and for the avid riders who want a challenge, the Old Freeway at Mount Lofty will bring you close to the finish of Bupa Stage 4. At 9.7 kilometres long and with an average gradient of 4.7% this will certainly get the heart pumping.
Look out for the start at the Glen Osmond Tollgate. For a mountain bike adventure, visit Eagle on the Hill Bike Park. There are an abundance of trails as well as a jump park and trials area.
Gumeracha is famous for their Toy Factory, Big Rocking Horse and Wildlife Park. All conveniently situated together, this one-stop-shop can easily entertain all the family. the iconic Big Rocking Horse was commissioned by the Toy Factory’s original owner Wal Wilkinson, and construction was finished in 1981. If you’re feeling adventurous, you’re able to climb the Big Rocking Horse right up to the top of its head – a dizzying 18.3 metres high.
