The broadcast schedule for the 2016 event will be released later in the year.

Broadcast exclusively across the Nine Network and Gem, the seven-day event that winds through Adelaide’s picturesque wine and coastal regions starred a host of the world’s best riders, including Tour de France winner Cadel Evans who lined up for his final UCI WorldTour race before his retirement.

Calling all the action was the international voice of cycling, sports broadcasting legend Phil Liggett, along with his long-time commentary partner Paul Sherwen and Australian cycling legend Robbie McEwen.

Coverage of the opening round of the UCI WorldTour commenced with the People’s Choice Classic on Sunday 18 January, followed by Stages 1-6 of the Santos Tour Down Under from Tuesday 20 January.

As the world’s best road cyclists raced through the streets of Adelaide, cycling fans again saw the action live on Nine and Gem. The Nine Network, which broadcast the event for the fourth time, presented 26½ hours of Santos Tour Down Under coverage, showcasing the thrilling final two and a half hours of each of the first four stages LIVE on Gem and Nine.

To cap off an intense week of cycling the entire final two stages of the 2015 Santos Tour Down Under were broadcast LIVE on Nine on Saturday 24 January from 11.30am AEDT, and Sunday 25 January from 1.30pm.

The world-renowned cycling event was also covered in Nine News updates, as well as regular reports on the Today Show and Weekend Today Show.

Today Show Sports presenter Tim Gilbert hosted the 2015 Santos Tour Down Under for Gem and the Nine Network while his Wide World of Sports co-host, Olympian John Steffensen took part in the official BUPA Challenge Tour, cycling 151.7km from Glenelg to Mount Barker.
