Sunday 19 January

Time: 5.45 – 6.25pm approx.

Location: Victoria Drive, Adelaide

The first stage of the three race series will be a criterium. A fast-paced closed road circuit race held as a preview to the People’s Choice Classic and the Santos Tour Down Under.

A completely new circuit for the curtain raiser in 2014 will see riders race through the heart of Adelaide around a closed-circuit on Victoria Drive.

Come and watch Australia’s top female cyclists do battle on the streets of Adelaide, then followed by a road race around Angaston on Monday 20 January and with the final showdown criterium in Prospect on Tuesday 21 January.

Monday 20 January

Time: 12midday – 3.00pm approx.
Location: Murray St. near Middle St, Angaston (start and finish)

The beautiful vineyards of the Barossa will provide a stunning backdrop for the second stage of the Santos Women’s Cup. Some of Australia’s elite female cyclists will provide some action-packed racing as they ride laps two and three of the first stage of the Santos Tour Down Under.

There are sure to be fireworks up Menglers Hill, a 1.25km climb with an average gradient of 8% and some sections at 18%. It will give the hill climbers an opportunity to get revenge on the strong criterium specialists, that’s if they can hold them off into the finish at Angaston!

Tuesday 21 January

Time:  7:.00 – 7.45pm approx.
Location: Prospect Rd, Prospect

The third and final stage of the Santos Women’s Cup concludes with another face-paced closed road circuit race, this time in the shape of a hot dog, up and down the main street of Prospect.

This type of race circuit provides the opportunity for riders to race a fast attacking race, as a result of the sharp U-turn corners at each end of the course. This lung sapping, leg burning type of racing will really showcase Australia’s best cyclists as they attempt to ride away for the win and take the prized Santos Women’s Cup home until next year!
