Route Information

The 2013 Bupa Challenge Tour has four start locations. These are Modbury,  Kersbrook, Mt Pleasant and Nuriootpa. Read more about start times and download maps below.

Modbury

Official rider briefing: 6:20
Start time: 6:30am

Getting to Modbury 
Modbury is approximately 16km north east of the Adelaide CBD. See Google Maps for suggested driving directions. Allow at least 30 minutes to drive to Modbury from Adelaide. Civic Park is located on North East Road, opposite Tea Tree Plaza.

Details of car parking and drop off arrangements will be available in the coming months.

Coach Transfers
Buses to Modbury will begin loading at 5am at the Torrens Parade Ground which is located on the corner of Victoria Drive and King William Rd, Adelaide. Buses will depart at 5:30am. Coach transfers need to be pre booked

Kersbrook
Official rider briefing: 6:50am
Start time: 7:00am

Getting to Kersbrook
Kersbrook is approximately 36km north east of the Adelaide CBD. See Google Maps for suggested driving directions. Allow at least one hour to drive to Kersbrook from Adelaide. Kersbrook Soldiers Memorial Park is located on Glover Street in Kersbrook.

Kersbrook car parking and drop off
Car parking will be allowed at Kersbrook Soldiers Memorial Park as directed by officials. It is however, unsecured and parking is at your own risk.

Coach Transfers
Buses to Kersbrook will begin loading at 5am at the Torrens Parade Ground which is located on the corner of Victoria Drive and King William Rd, Adelaide. Buses will depart at 5:30am. Coach transfers need to be pre booked

Mt Pleasant
Official rider briefing: 7:20am
Start time: 7:30am

Getting to Mt Pleasant
Mt Pleasant is approximately 65km north east of the Adelaide CBD. See Google Maps for suggested driving directions. Allow at least 75 minutes to drive to Mt Pleasant from Adelaide.

Mt Pleasant car parking and drop off
Car parking will be allowed within the showgrounds as directed by officials. It is however, unsecured and parking is at your own risk. Family and friends who come to the start of the event can park at the showgrounds, but are also encouraged to find a park in the surrounding streets.

Coach Transfers
Buses to Mt Pleasant will begin loading at 5:15am at the Torrens Parade Ground which is located on the corner of Victoria Drive and King William Rd, Adelaide. Buses will depart at 5:45am. Coach transfers need to be pre booked

Nuriootpa
Official rider briefing: 10:50am
Start time: 11:00am

Getting to Nuriootpa

Nuriootpa is approximately 80km north of the Adelaide CBD. See Google Maps for suggested driving directions. 

Allow at least 80 minutes to drive to Nuriootpa from Adelaide. 

Centennial Park Oval is located on Penrice Road. 

Nuriootpa car parking and drop off

Car parking will be allowed within the oval area as directed by officials. It is however, unsecured and parking is at your own risk. 

Family and friends who come to the start of the event can park at the oval, but are also encouraged to find a park in the surrounding streets. 

Finish
Tanunda RSL Recreation Reserve, Murray Street Tanunda official finish arch with rider services available at the Tanunda RSL Recreation Reserve.

Getting to Tanunda
Tanunda is approximately 75 km north of the Adelaide CBD. See Google Maps for suggested driving directions. Allow at least 75 minutes to drive to Tanunda from Adelaide. The Tanunda RSL Recreation Reserve is located on Elizabeth Street.

Tanunda car parking and pick up 
Please note, there is no car parking at the Tanunda RSL Recreation Reserve, but there is ample parking in the surrounding streets. Details of car parking and pick up arrangements will be available in the coming months.

Coach Transfers
Buses back to all start locations and Adelaide CBD will depart from the Tanunda RSL Recreation Reserve at 1pm and also 40min after the Santos Tour Down Under race finish. Coach transfers need to be pre booked.
