Prospect awarded Santos Best Dressed Town
Prospect has been crowned the best dressed town for L’Oreal Men Expert Stage One in the Santos Best Dressed Town competition.
Riders were greeted by a delightfully decorated Prospect Road, featuring coloured cable ties around every street pole.
The suburb displayed a diverse collection of decorations that had been put together by the whole community and included innovative knitted bike wheels.
Children from the local kindergarten practised their craft skills making decorations and turning out to watch the race.
The winner of the Santos Best Dressed Commercial Property for the L’Oreal Men Expert Stage One went to A Classic Image Hair and Beauty Salon in Prospect.
The salon designed the frame of a bike with empty hair product bottles and had balloons drawing attention to their shop.
The Santos Best Dressed Town Competition has been a part of the Santos Tour Down Under since the first race in 1999. The competition gives South Australian suburbs, businesses and households a chance to be a part of the excitement during the Santos Festival of Cycling.
Stage winners of the Best Dressed Town competition will win prizes including framed and signed race jerseys, gift packs and garden products from Peats Soil and Garden Supplies.
Tomorrow’s race will see Hahn Super Dry Stage Two of the Santos Tour Down Under go from Mount Barker Rostrevor.
