South Australians can dine with international cycling superstar Lance Armstrong at the Legends Night Dinner during the 2010 Santos Tour Down Under.
Tourism Minister Jane Lomax-Smith announced today that Lance Armstrong will attend the event at the Adelaide Convention Centre on Saturday 23 January 2010.
"Lance will be interviewed on stage and guests will get to hear his story about his return to cycling and find out his views on competing with his new team, Team RadioShack, here in Adelaide," Dr Lomax-Smith says.
"The Legends Night Dinner is a great chance for cycling fans to get up close and personal with their heroes."
"Tickets for the event sell out fast, so people should buy their tickets quickly if they want to attend this cycling social tradition."
Lance Armstrong is a cancer survivor and record-breaking seven-time winner of the Tour de France. Lance made his return to world cycling at the 2009 Tour Down Under.
"The 2010 Santos Tour Down Under will see Lances new team, Team RadioShack, compete for the first time anywhere in the world," says Dr Lomax-Smith.
"The 2009 Legends Night Dinner sold out and we expect the 2010 event to be another must-attend occasion."
Cycling fans from Australia and overseas travel to South Australia to be part of the Santos Tour Down Under."
"People can watch some of the worlds best cyclists battle it out in the first race of the year and can take part in the great associated events such as the Legends Night Dinner."
In 2010, Mark Beretta, sports anchor for Channel Sevens Sunrise program, will MC the dinner and cycling commentators Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwen will interview Lance Armstrong and other cycling legends.
