The Mutual Community Challenge Tour is ideal for individuals or social, corporate and sporting teams looking for a challenge with a difference.

It's a challenge - not a race. Part of the Skoda Breakaway Series, this event is for regular cyclists who can make the distance - will you make it to the finish before the professionals arrive?

New for 2011, the Mutual Community Challenge Tour offers four start options. These range from the full 135km route from Norwood, to a short 35km ride from Macclesfield to Strathalbyn.

*135km includes Santos Tour Down Under stage distance of 124km plus 11km race neutral distance. All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST.

New jersey provider for 2011

Australian cycling apparel supplier Scody has been appointed to provide the Mutual Community Challenge Tour jersey. The jersey design will be unveiled in the coming weeks. Please check your jersey measurements and size carefully as you may require a different sized jersey to past years. If you regularly ride in a Scody jersey the Mutual Community Challenge jersey will be the same sizing as the Scody regular standard relaxed fit range. If you are unsure on sizing and would like to try a jersey on for size they will be available at the SA Visitor and Travel Centre, 18 King William Street Adelaide from mid August, alternatively the Scody standard relaxed fit range is available in Rebel Sport Stores nationally. Who can enter

Individual cyclists and teams capable of riding their chosen distance
Mutual Community, MBF, HBA, UniSA and Cycling Australia members are entitled to the members discount fee
Teams - Any cyclists can enter a team if they have five or more in their group
Only human powered bicycles are permitted to enter the ride. Motorcycles, scooters and motorised and power-assisted bicycles are not permitted

Team jerseys include team name printed on the back
Official Mutual Community Challenge Tour Ride Guide with course information to help you prepare
Medical support and some mechanical back-up on route
Training tips and exclusive access to sponsor products/services
Refreshment Stations at all starts, along the route and at the finish location. There will be an increased number of refreshment stations along the route than in previous years, details of locations will be available later in the year
Lunch at the finish location
Free cloak room
Family entertainment at the finish location

What do I need?

A mechanically sound bike
Australian Standards approved helmet in good condition
Your own water bottles
A spare tube, pump, puncture repair kit (including tyre levers)
Wet weather gear and sunscreen
Photo ID and mobile phone or money for a phone call
You will need to supply your own security lock/chain, as this is NOT included in your registration. Event organisers will not be responsible for bikes or personal items left unattended
We strongly recommend all participants take out travel insurance and private health cover to cover any unforseen circumstances that may arise.

Team information

Cyclists can ride as part of a team. Teams must have five or more members in their group; there is no maximum number of team members. Each team member must be registered in full by 31 October 2010.
