The Santos Tour Down Under Best Dressed Town Competition is a great way for South Australian communities, businesses, property owners and households to be a part of the excitement of the Santos Tour Down Under.

The competition is open to all towns, suburbs, businesses, property owners and households along the race route from stages 1-5 inclusive. Daily winners for each category of town, private residence, property/paddock and commercial property will be awarded, and an overall winner for each category at the end of the race.

If you are situated along any part of the stage 1-5 race routes, make sure you ‘dress to impress’ either your community, business, paddock or house and nominate!

The 2015 competition saw a record 71 entries register with Williamstown taking out the overall honours of Santos Best Dressed Town.

The communities along the Santos Tour Down Under regional stage routes that dress up their towns, homes, paddocks, schools or commercial properties do a great job of creating a festival atmosphere to welcome visitors and the peloton to the area.

A judging panel will select daily and overall winners for each competition category, with nominees that miss out on these prizes eligible for innovation awards.

The overall Santos Best Dressed Town winner will receive $3000 to be spent on a community improvement project or resources, a truckload of mulch from Peats Soil, a signed framed jersey and two metals signs to be displayed in the town acknowledging the win.

Silver and bronze winners in the town category will receive $1000 and $500 respectively to spend on community projects, plus signed jerseys. Cash prizes of $1000, long with framed certificates and gift packs, will be presented to winners of the Santos Best Dressed Private Residence, Santos Best Dressed Paddock/School and Santos Best Dressed Commercial Property.
