Mutual Community Challenge Tour Victory Salute Competition Winners

This week Mutual Community was pleased to present the Mutual Community Victory Salute Competition for all participants in the Mutual Community Challenge Tour presented by The Advertiser. The winners have been selected!

For the chance to win one of 10 Mutual Community Challenge Tour jerseys signed by Stuart O'Grady, all participants had to do was simply ride under the finish arch in Victor Harbor (within the allocated time) and raise their arms or in some cases legs in the air in the sign of victory.

If your salute is pictured below please email your contact details to Brooke Freckleton along with proof of identification to claim your prize.

The Breakaway Series, presented by The Advertiser newspaper, is an initiative for cyclists of all ages and fitness levels to experience the challenge and fun of the world-class Tour Down Under.

The Breakaway Series incorporates the Mutual Community Challenge Tour (previously known as the Be-active Tour), where you get to ride a real stage of the actual Tour Down Under course.

For 2007, the Mutual Community Challenge Tour takes place on Friday, January 19, and offers serious riders the opportunity to test their skills while riding the same route that the professionals will take on Stage 3 of the Tour Down Under.

The Mutual Community Fun Tour to be held on Sunday, January 21, offers first time and casual riders the opportunity to ride part of the Tour Down Under. It is a 20.5 kilometre Stage 5 City Circuit, that begins in Barratt Reserve in West Beach. Barratt Reserve offers plenty of parking as well as access to some of Adelaide’s great beaches.

Separate to the Breakaway Series but also held during the Tour Down Under is the Powerade "mini tour for kids", a special opportunity for young riders to ride on the actual race circuit in a controlled and car-free environment.

Young riders aged eight to 14 years can take to the course on Sunday, January 21, and take in the same view as the international cyclists. A ‘hot dog’ loop up and down the finishing straight on King William Street will be open for 400 lucky kids for 40 minutes (11.20am-12noon).

All-in-all, there is every reason and no excuse to get involved and get on your bike at the 2007 Tour Down Under.
