South Australia – A Brilliant Blend
When you're the wine capital of Australia, the art of blending comes naturally. But here in South Australia we blend far more than wine.
We've put Australia's most civilised city a half hour from the world's most unique wildlife sanctuary. Where people swim in clear, turquoise waters and giants appear out of the blue. We blended the freshest, finest produce in the country with chefs of world repute. And new age cuisine now meets the ancient outback.
We put together history and elegance with horsepower and excitement. Love of the arts with passion for sport.
By any measure, it's a good blend.
But in truth... it's a brilliant blend.

Get off the beaten track
The Tour Down Under is the premier international cycling race in Australia, but it's not the only two-wheeled action you'll find in these parts.
The Mawson Trail is a 900km cycling route from Adelaide to Blinman in the Flinders Ranges. The trail winds over little used country roads, through State forests, national parks and farmland. (And in case you're wondering, it's named in honour of Antarctic adventurer and geologist Sir Douglas Mawson, who also liked to explore the Flinders on his trusty bicycle...)
In the Clare Valley wine region, the Riesling Trail takes cyclists past the home of some of Australia's top wineries, including Tim Adams, Leasingham and Grosset. The 27km trail runs between the towns of Auburn and Clare (two hours north of Adelaide) and follows the disused railway line linking Riverton and Spalding.
The River Torrens Linear Trail stretches 35km through the heart of Adelaide, from the sea at Henley Beach to the foothills at Athelstone. Following the bends and curves of the River Torrens, the bitumen trail runs past a host of city attractions including the Adelaide Zoo, Adelaide Festival Centre and Elder Park.
South of Adelaide, the 22km Encounter Bikeway links the popular seaside towns of Victor Harbor, Port Elliot, Middleton and Goolwa. Hugging the coast, the path takes riders past great surf beaches, the renowned Flying Fish Café at Horseshoe Bay, and offers views of the Great Southern Ocean, sand hills and Granite Island. On weekends, bikes can be loaded onto the historic Cockle Train for the return journey.
